Terms and Disclaimers

HoopsRef assesses basketball rules knowledge. It does not provide official referee certification, licensing, credentials, endorsement, or authorization to officiate games.

Each assessment is based on the rules of the basketball association or organization identified for that assessment. Rules may differ among leagues, tournaments, schools, and recreational programs.

A HoopsRef Certificate of Achievement records performance on a specific assessment. It does not replace required training, background checks, organizational approval, or other officiating qualifications. Assessment results measure rules knowledge; they do not establish an individual’s overall readiness or ability to officiate games.
